About Us

Incorporated back in 2008, SALADI Enterprises is an ethical fashion manufacturer with a social cause. We value artisans over machines. We aim to create employment opportunities for marginalised communities by producing private label products for other brands.

Our Story

SUNELI SIGN.png
SUNELI.jpg

Suneli Saladi, the boss lady who started it all, comes from a marginalised community herself. Being an adopted child, life wasn’t easy. She was reminded on and on again that, being a female, the only life waiting for her is one of marriage and house chores. Because “success is only for talented people” and “financial independence is reserved only for the city folk”.

She soon realized that this mindset is distorted. That success is for anyone brave enough to grasp it, and just like you can find gold in everyone - you can also find talents. But before she could help people around her, she had to help herself. And that’s when SALADI came to existence.

With absolutely no prior skills, experience or decent education, Suneli started SALADI in her master bedroom, along with six artisans and five machines.

Over all these years, Suneli’s driving force has been the same - You can do ANYTHING you put your mind to.

This is the mindset we invite our artisans to participate in. That they can do anything they put their mind to. Regardless of gender, resources, education and so on.

SALADI holds an opportunity for employment, to anyone who is willing to believe in themselves. Even when some lack the skill, SALADI offers free of cost training to learn the tasks. Suneli believes that talent can be found within everyone, sometimes they just need a little push out the door.

Founder
& Visionary

In her master bedroom, with 5 machines and 6 artisans, Suneli started what would later be called SALADI. Over all these years, her driving force remains the same - You can do ANYTHING you put your mind to.

Till today, Suneli tries to constantly re-emphasise this truth to our artisans that only then can determine their future. To help, Suneli has a training program where even members of our community who have never worked before can be trained and hired by SALADI. Today, 70% of our current artisans were trained in-house and didn’t have prior experience in the fashion industry.

Suneli is committed towards building SALADI as an alternative employment option for those who otherwise get overlooked by successful businesses. She believes that talent can be found within everyone, sometimes they just need a little push out the door.
